Franck Kayombo sparks youth entrepreneurship shift in DRC

As an accomplished international communication consultant and entrepreneur, his journey is one of resilience and inspiration.

Franck’s educational path laid a solid groundwork for his future endeavors. He began at Lycée Tuyakumpala 1 and pursued studies in mathematics and physics at Institut Mulemba Edap ISP/Mbujimayi. He later graduated with a degree in public economics from Université Pédagogique Nationale de Kinshasa (UPN Kinshasa). This comprehensive education has been instrumental in shaping his innovative approach to communication and entrepreneurship.

By 2021, Franck had made significant strides in the communication sector, partnering with prominent international organizations and governmental bodies. His role as head of communication for an NGO in 2022 showcased his leadership skills, and in 2023, he joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a national consultant specializing in digital communication for the DRC.

The year 2024 marked a pivotal moment when he founded CONGO WAVE, a digital communication agency in Brazzaville that swiftly expanded to Kinshasa. His vision extended further with the establishment of the Innovative Network of Young Entrepreneurs of Congo (RIJEC) in 2025, aimed at nurturing a new wave of Congolese entrepreneurs.

Through his initiatives, Franck Kayombo transcends the role of a mere entrepreneur; he is cultivating a vibrant ecosystem that supports the development of young talent. By equipping them with essential skills and modern expertise, he enables them to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of digitalization and entrepreneurship.

His journey exemplifies that with determination, vision, and a commitment to uplift others, it is possible to transform challenges into opportunities. Franck Kayombo stands as a powerful symbol of hope and motivation for a generation eager to create meaningful change in their country.
