Founder and chairman of Eleganza Group,Chief Razaq Okoya has appealed to Nigerians to be optimistic that the President Bola Tinubu-led government would rekindle hope and bring joy to citizens.
He stated this during the Eid el-Fitr ceremony at his Oluwanisola residence, along the Lekki/Ajah expressway in Lagos.
The business icon noted that the masses were suffering and needed urgent help, with most of them looking forward to interventions from President Tinubu.
“I am very confident that the President knows what to do. He is a man of the people, he knows what we are feeling right now because he is among us and God would help him. By the grace of God, he is an understanding President; just give him some time. God would lead him to do the right thing,” Okoya said.
He, however, charged the government to build more cottage industries in every state of the federation to boost the economy and bring people out of poverty. He stated that agriculture also should be taken into consideration by the new administration.
Electricity, he said, was critical to development, noting that a lot of industries were suffering in terms of production on account of poor electricity supply.
He also advised youths to be more patient and not indulge in get-rich-quick ventures. “I have been in the manufacturing business for over 60 years. A little drop makes an ocean. Consistency is the key. That’s why I am an advocate of cottage industries in every state of the federation.”
In her remarks, Dr. Folashade, wife of the business mogul, wished all Muslims happy Eid el filtr and prayed that God would accept their sacrifice, adding, “I pray the new administration will make this country better for us all.”
The highlight of the day was the distribution of gifts and food items to the underprivileged who came to pray at the Okoya residence.
