The Rotary Club of Ojodu recently installed a new president, Ikpunuekhai Osi-Evans, a legal practitioner, setting the stage for a year of impactful service. The installation ceremony, held at Ostra Hall, Ikeja, was a celebration of Rotary’s commitment to community development and humanitarian service.
Ikpunuekhai takes over from Ijeoma Nwosu, amidst an assembly of dignitaries, including Rotary members, partners, and community leaders. The event was a blend of celebration and forward-thinking, highlighting the club’s commitment to sustainable growth and positive change in Lagos and beyond.
In his inaugural address, Osi-Evans outlined an ambitious vision for the club, emphasizing the importance of strategic interventions and partnerships to address community needs. He said: “Our goals for the year are audacious yet achievable,” highlighting the club’s dedication to enhancing community welfare through various initiatives.
A highlight of the event was a special lecture delivered by Lucky Onyema Egbede, Managing Director of Super Saver. His insightful talk on “Leadership and Impactful service” inspired attendees to embrace leadership roles and make a positive difference in their communities.
The club also inducted 10 new members, demonstrating its commitment to growth and expanding its capacity for service. A significant project, estimated to cost ₦36 million, was unveiled, showcasing the club’s dedication to sustainable development and addressing critical community needs.
The event was graced by numerous dignitaries, including the chairman of Ojodu Local Government Council, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, and several Past District Governors. The presence of these distinguished guests underscored the importance of Rotary’s work and the impact it has on the community.
The Rotary Club of Ojodu, established in 2002, has a rich history of service. The club’s members have been instrumental in improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure in the Ojodu community. With the installation of Osi-Evans, the club is poised to continue its legacy of service and make a lasting impact on the lives of many.
