The pictures and news that went viral on social media (Twitter now X) on Thursday, regarding the new official Super Eagles jerseys for the 2023 African Cup of Nations tournament in Cote d’Ivoire is fake news, SportingSun can exclusively report.
It was posted that kits manufacturer; Nike had revealed the official jersey for Nigeria for the 34th edition of the AFCON is now available for sale to anxious fans of the three-time champions.
A post by celebrity reporter on the X app, David Ben @_davyben read.
“Nike has NOT unveiled a special edition kit for the Super Eagles ahead of #AFCON2023.
The viral design making the rounds on social media is concept by a talented Ghana-based Nigerian designer, Dubem Nwokolo, who created a beautiful fan-art concept of a collaboration between Nike & the Super Eagles.”
The Super Eagles, who are Group A, kick off their campaign on January 14 against Equatorial Guinea before facing the hosts four days later in what will be a repeat of the 2013 edition quarterfinal that saw them overcome Cote d’Ivoire 2-1.
