In a recent development, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has issued a statement announcing the temporary suspension of the forthcoming Executive Board elections for the Nasarawa State Football Association.
According to a letter sent to the Nasarawa state FA sighted by our correspondent Thursday noted that the decision comes in response to a petition lodged at the NFF Secretariat concerning the election process.
The NFF Secretary, Ali Abubakar Muhammad, communicated the news to the Secretary of the Nasarawa State Football Association in a formal letter.
The correspondence, bearing the reference number “NFF/GS/245/Vol.I/MA/89 and dated May 18, 2023, expressed warm regards from the President, Executive Board, Management, and Staff of the Nigeria Football Federation.”
While the specific details of the petition were not disclosed, the letter stated that the elections would be put on hold until further notice. The NFF assured the Nasarawa State Football Association that additional information regarding the matter would be conveyed promptly.
The Secretary FA Elections 2023 Monitoring Committee, acting on behalf of the Chairman, appended a copy of the petition to the letter. The NFF emphasized the importance of understanding and compliance with this decision.
