The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Young Adults and Youth Affairs (YAYA) is set to host the second edition of its Mega Music Festival (MMF 2.0), bringing together some of Nigeria’s leading gospel music ministers, including Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, Yinka Alaseyori, Bidemi Olaoba and Gospel Force, for what organisers describe as a night of worship, prayer and national intercession.

The event, themed “A New Season,” will take place on June 12, 2026, at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, and is expected to attract thousands of worshippers from different parts of Nigeria and beyond.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lagos, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Youth Affairs, Pastor Sola Olukoya, explained that the Mega Music Festival is more than a gospel concert. According to him, it is a spiritual gathering designed to unite believers in worship while seeking divine intervention for Nigeria through prayer, thanksgiving and prophetic declarations.

Olukoya said the vision behind the festival is rooted in biblical examples that demonstrate the transformative power of praise and worship. He cited the story of King Jehoshaphat, whose army secured victory through praise, and the account of Paul and Silas, whose worship in prison led to miraculous deliverance.

He noted that the choice of Tafawa Balewa Square as the venue was intentional because of its historical significance as the place where Nigeria attained independence in 1960. Holding the programme on Democracy Day, he said, provides an opportunity for worshippers to gather and pray for a fresh season of progress, peace and prosperity for the nation.

“This is not just another event. It is a divine appointment for God’s people to come together and declare a new season over their lives, families and the nation,” he said.

A major feature of the festival will be the launch of the RCCG Young Adult and Youth Tech Fellowship, a youth empowerment initiative being implemented in partnership with Reach4Christ. The fellowship aims to equip more than 100,000 young people with practical digital and technology skills over a four-month training programme.

Participants will receive training, mentorship and capacity-building opportunities in areas such as software development, artificial intelligence, cyber security, product development, data analysis and visualisation, as well as other emerging technology fields.

Olukoya said the initiative was conceived to prepare young people for opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital economy. He stressed that RCCG YAYA is committed to raising a generation of youths who are spiritually grounded while also possessing the skills needed to compete globally and contribute meaningfully to national development.

The festival will also feature special prayer sessions and prophetic declarations led by senior ministers, including Pastor J.F. Odesola and Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye. The General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, is expected to offer prayers for Nigeria and pronounce a fatherly blessing on participants.

To ensure easy participation, the organisers announced that free transportation would be provided through designated bus routes across Lagos and Ogun states. They also assured attendees of adequate security, traffic management, crowd control and medical support throughout the event.

Describing the Mega Music Festival 2.0 as “an altar of praise and a movement of transformation,” Olukoya expressed optimism that the gathering would inspire spiritual renewal, strengthen hope and empower young people to become agents of positive change in society.
