The Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Aisha Garba met with the Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, Commissioner for Education, Dr. John Mamman, SUBEB Executive Chairman, Alhaji Muhammed Musa Dan’azumi, and other education stakeholders to reinforce efforts in expanding access to quality education and addressing the challenge of out-of-school children.
The governor has shown strong commitment to basic education through school construction, renovation, teacher recruitment, and other key interventions.
She also visited the UBEC Smart School in Lafia, where students showcased their use of technology in learning, and the Second Chance Model School in Akwanga, which provides education and entrepreneurial training for married women and young girls who never attended or did not complete school.
The school equips them with skills for self-reliance and meaningful participation in society.
