The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement, Sunday Adedayo Asefon over the provision of brand new Sienna buses to the six zonal coordinators of the association.
In a Friday statement signed by its National Public Relations Officer (PRO), Comrade Samson Adeyemi and sent to SunOnline, the association described the initiative as “thoughtful and strategic”.
NANS also lauded its President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja for facilitating the process.
The national student body explained that this laudable initiative represents a significant step toward strengthening student representation, coordination, and engagement across the six geopolitical zones of the country.
According to the body, by equipping the zonal leadership with official vehicles, the capacity of NANS to effectively carry out its mandate of advocacy, student welfare, and grassroots engagement would be greatly enhanced.
The statement reads, “The gesture demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the Federal Government particularly through the Ministry of Youth Development and the Office of the SSA to the President on Students Engagement to ensuring that Nigerian students remain actively involved in national development conversations.
