The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended Evergreen Initiative and its founder, Alli-Bob Cinwon, for their impactful summer school empowerment programme.
The programme, designed for children in Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDPs) camps and underserved communities, has been a beacon of hope for Nigeria’s most vulnerable children.
For eight years, Evergreen Initiative has reached eight states across Nigeria, impacting over 100 children and youths in each community. The holistic summer programme offers daily meals, academic classes and digital literacy training, providing a robust support system for its beneficiaries.

In a letter by its National Public Relations Officer, Adeyemi Samson, NANS said it recognised the initiative’s efforts in addressing the educational and socio-economic needs of Nigeria’s young citizens, particularly in times of displacement and economic hardship.
The association applauded Evergreen Initiative’s commitment to empowering the next generation and fostering resilience in the face of adversity
“At a time when many of our young citizens face displacement, economic hardship and limited access to quality education, this initiative shines as a powerful beacon of hope and resilience.
But, beyond the classroom, the initiative goes further. It identifies and rewards the best-performing students, providing them with scholarships sustained by a dedicated scholarship trust fund ensuring that their journey toward excellence does not end when the summer ends,” it stated.
