The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has congratulated Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, Ogun State on the 50th Anniversary of the institution.
Executive Director, Administration and Planning of NANS, Comrade Oladimeji Uthman conveyed this during a Monday press conference in Abuja.
Uthman, who spoke on behalf of NANS President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, said this historic milestone marks five decades of unwavering commitment to academic excellence, moral uprightness, teacher education, and the holistic development of young Nigerians.
He noted that since its establishment, FCE Abeokuta has remained a citadel of learning and a beacon of hope in the training of competent, disciplined, and innovative educators who continue to contribute immensely to national development.
Uthman highlighted key achievements of the college over the past fifty years, including production of highly skilled and patriotic teachers; promotion of research and innovation in education; sustenance of quality teaching and learning standards; and nurturing of responsible and visionary leaders across sectors.
He said it was for these reasons that FCE Abeokuta deserved massive funding from the Federal Government and Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
