Towering defender, Chile Azu has promised to bring his Premier League experience to bear in Go Round FC’s quest to campaign in the elite league next season.
Azu left the Omoku River State-based National League side for a premier league stint with Ikorodu United of Lagos last season but had to return to Omoku after Ikorodu was relegated at the end of the last premier league season. “I really wanted premier league experience, so I left to join Ikorodu United. And I believe I came back with something different. The players know with my experience, we can work together to make our promotion dream a reality. By God’s grace we will play top division football next season,” he enthused.
The player reputed for his long throws said there’s a big difference between the Go Round FC team of two seasons ago and the one he met on his return.
“Even the coaches have raised their game. The boys train with more vigour and I believe we have all it takes to play in the premier league next season.”
Go Round FC is currently second on the Nigeria National League (NNL) Southern Conference log with 16 points from eight matches.
