The Tinubu Support Group (TSG), one of the organisations canvassing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, has unveiled its Jigawa State office and established its structures in the 287 political wards in the 27 LGAs in the state for effective mobilisation.
Dr Magaji Da’u Aliyu, the Deputy Director-General (North) of the organisation, who unveiled the group’s state office in Dutse, the state capital, also disclosed that the group had established leadership structures across the state’s political constituencies, including the three senatorial districts, 11 federal and 31 state assembly constituencies, as part of efforts to take its message to all parts of the state.
He explained that the structures also extended to the state’s 287 political wards and 5,422 polling units to coordinate grassroots mobilisation and strengthen the group’s presence across the state.
According to him, the initiative is aimed at ensuring effective mobilisation and coordination of supporters ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Aliyu, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives, representing Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency of the state, said the group had also reorganised its state and senatorial district leadership structures to improve coordination, maintain regular communication and provide feedback to its regional and national headquarters on progress and challenges.
He urged members and leaders of the group to intensify their grassroots mobilisation activities and work towards securing support for Tinubu’s re-election.
The TSG chieftain, who chaired the House of Representatives Committee on Power in the Ninth Assembly, declared that the North was prepared to support Tinubu for a second term, describing Tinubu’s emergence after the late President Muhammadu Buhari as the fulfilment of an earlier political understanding between the region and the South-West.
He described the massive turnout of supporters at the APC presidential campaign kick-off in Kaduna on the Saturday before last as a clear demonstration of the North’s support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

“The massive turnout in Kaduna shows where the North stands. Today, we in the Northwest geopolitical zone have spoken loud and clear about who we stand for. Our choice of Tinubu remains a commitment to a better Nigeria and national cohesion. Arewa will return Tinubu to Aso Rock,” he said.
Aliyu recalled that Buhari contested the presidency several times under different political platforms, including the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), before eventually winning the 2015 presidential election under the APC, with Tinubu’s political support.
He argued that the South-West backed Buhari for two terms on the understanding that presidential power would subsequently shift to the region.
According to him, Tinubu’s emergence as president after Buhari represented the fulfilment of that political understanding, which he said the North should reciprocate by supporting his re-election.
“The South-West supported and voted for Buhari for two terms under Tinubu’s political leadership, with an understanding that the presidency would shift to the South-West after Buhari.
“That has happened, and we need to fulfil the promise by supporting and voting for Tinubu to complete his constitutionally allowed eight years in office,” he said.
He urged APC members and supporters across the northern region to remain peaceful and law-abiding and to be committed to their political activities as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
Aliyu maintained that the group would continue to co-ordinate its structures and mobilise support for the President across Jigawa and other parts of the country.
