Preparations have reached an advanced stage for the 20th Lagos Motor Fair and 13th Africa Autoparts Expo, with organisers promising a landmark edition of West Africa’s flagship automotive exhibition.
The three-day event, scheduqled for March 17 to 19, 2026, will be held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos, chairman of the organising committee and managing director of BKG Exhibitions Limited, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu, described the forthcoming edition as a defining moment for the region’s automotive ecosystem.
“We have curated a truly all-inclusive event to ensure a rewarding experience for every stakeholder,” Agwu said. “This milestone 20th edition will be significantly different—rich in content, broader in participation and intentionally designed to elevate the fair from a trading platform to a catalyst for industrial and economic transformation.”
Autoparts Leaders’ Summit Returns
A major highlight of the 2026 programme is the return of the Autoparts Market Leaders’ Conference/Summit, following its debut last year.
The high-level forum is designed to promote collaboration among traders, importers, distributors, manufacturers and policy influencers within Nigeria’s automotive components sector.
Under the theme “Transforming the Automotive Component Parts Industry in Nigeria: Leadership Strategies for Growth and Sustainability,” the summit will address key issues such as expanding local manufacturing to reduce import dependence, establishing a central leadership framework, forging strategic partnerships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and improving supply chain management through structured bulk procurement systems.
Organisers said the summit will serve as a knowledge-sharing and networking platform, offering participants direct engagement with OEM representatives and access to practical strategies for scaling operations in a competitive market.
Global Participation
Beyond the conference sessions, the exhibition floor is expected to showcase strong international participation. According to Agwu, over 100 OEMs from Asia, Europe and the Americas have confirmed attendance.
Major vehicle manufacturers, auto dealers, financial institutions, insurance providers and oil and gas companies are also set to participate, reinforcing the fair’s reputation as a comprehensive automotive marketplace.
Exhibits will span passenger vehicles, commercial fleets, spare parts, lubricants, diagnostic tools and workshop equipment, alongside information on auto financing schemes, insurance packages, leasing models and fleet management solutions.
Blending Business and Entertainment
In addition to trade and policy discussions, organisers have lined up entertainment activities, including live musical performances, cultural displays, model parades and a city road show aimed at boosting public engagement.
Agwu said the 20th anniversary offers an opportunity to celebrate two decades of resilience and innovation while positioning the fair as a strategic driver of Nigeria’s industrial growth.
He also highlighted strengthened institutional collaborations, including partnerships with key industry bodies, such as Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), to deepen the fair’s economic impact.
Industry Convergence
Over the years, the Lagos Motor Fair and Africa Autoparts Expo have evolved from a traditional trade exhibition into a strategic meeting point for investors, policymakers, manufacturers and entrepreneurs.
With heightened global participation, a revitalised leaders’ summit and a strong emphasis on local industry development, the 2026 edition is expected to reinforce its legacy as a major catalyst for Nigeria’s automotive sector.
From March 17 to 19, stakeholders across the automotive value chain are expected to converge on Victoria Island for three days of networking, deal-making and forward-looking dialogue aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global automotive landscape.
