The Jigawa State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has described the Peter Obi/Kwankwaso ticket as the most viable presidential pair that could successfully confront President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 election.
The state chairman of the party, Muhammad Inuwa, who made the observation in a chat with Daily Sun in Dutse, maintained that the Obi/Kwankwaso ticket holds the key to truly uniting the country.
Besides, he believes the two leaders have acquitted themselves credibly in their previous assignments as governors in their respective states.
His words: “Now that the issue of a single opposition presidential candidate is on the front burner, there’s no ticket that is more viable than the Obi/Kwankwaso ticket for the 2027 elections, to the extent that in any gathering you go to in Nigeria today, seven out of 10 people would tell you that, the remaining candidates should step down for Obi.

The NDC leader played down the role of incumbency in the forthcoming election, saying his party was not bothered about that, maintaining that Tinubu himself was in opposition before coming to power.
According to him, “You should remember that the person ruling Nigeria today started as an opposition leader, so, it’s nothing new to us. But what I can tell you is that both Obi and Kwankwaso have left behind credible legacies while serving as governors in their respective states, that is why majority of Nigerians are yearning.”
