Just like other curly-haired girls, Merian Odesho has struggled to find the products that worked for her fine, curly hair type throughout her life, as most of the products available in the market are not targeted towards the curly-haired type and have heavy use of chemically dominated ingredients in them which makes it harmful to use. She originally went to school to become a dentist, and through the process realized that she was capable of finding a solution for the problem she had faced all along and helped her community by formulating cosmetic products using her background in chemistry and science. With the pure intention of helping others find confidence in their curly hair, she began creating all different formulas and testing them on herself and her best friend. The teamwork made the dream come true and they finally came up with the perfect composition for their first products and Bounce Curl was born this way!
She says that she is proud of the place she holds in her company and she does not mean it in an arrogant way. Most of the time it’s actually her behind the screen answering any customer service emails! She has come a long way with a small team beside her to help her manage the whole company and grow it massively. She always feels like there is never enough time in the day with meetings, creating hair tutorials, and being the face of the brand while also managing and running the business. The feedback that she receives from her community helps her keep going and hence makes it a point to share tutorials and videos on her social media to educate people. This quality of the products makes her stand out from the crowd. She puts a ton of effort into actually connecting with and engaging with her customers and over time has built a strong community.
