Man docked over alleged unlawful possession of fire arms

A 31-year-old applicant, Damilola Akinbawonmi, was on Thursday arraigned in an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State, over alleged unlawful possession of fire arms.

The accused who resides at No. 24, Ojomo St., Okitipupa is facing a count charge of unlawful possession of fire arms.

The prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the accused was caught on June 4 with a rifle silencer around 8:00 a.m. at No 24, Ojomo St., Okitipupa.

Orogbemi said that the offence contravened Section 430 Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State 2006.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mr Banji Ayeomoni, granted the accused bail in the sum of N70, 000 and one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until July 6 for further hearing. (NAN)
