The streets of Osun State have erupted in jubilation as residents and supporters of Governor Ademola Adeleke celebrate his victory in the 2026 governorship election.
In Osogbo, the state capital, and other parts of the state, jubilant crowds took to the streets, dancing, singing and cheering following Adeleke’s declaration as the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Osun indigenes were seen celebrating in groups, with major streets and public spaces taking on a festive atmosphere as supporters expressed their excitement over the election outcome.
The celebrations followed Adeleke’s victory over his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji secured 444,815 votes in the election held across Osun State’s 30 local government areas.
The governor’s victory has triggered spontaneous celebrations in several communities, with supporters waving party flags, singing and dancing in the streets.
The celebrations continued as residents gathered in different locations to mark Adeleke’s return for a second term in office.
