A former senatorial aspirant for the Osun East Senatorial District, Samuel Oyedotun, has described Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in Saturday’s governorship election as “divine” and “an act of God.”
In a statement issued on Sunday, Oyedotun stated that the election results reflected the true wishes of the Osun electorate, emphasising that no amount of manipulation could overturn a mandate freely given at the polls.
The former Chairman of the Osun State Water Corporation Board commended the people of Osun for voting overwhelmingly for Adeleke, expressing confidence that the governor’s second term would usher in greater development across the state.
He also stressed that political actors must prioritise the peace of Osun above personal interests.
“The victory of Governor Ademola Adeleke is divine. It is an act of God and the collective decision of the Osun people who came out en masse to defend their mandate.

“Let me congratulate the people of Osun for their peaceful conduct despite reports of tension in some areas. You are truly the heroes, and I urge you to keep supporting Governor Adeleke and the Accord Party,” Oyedotun said.
The U.S.-trained mortgage stockbroker lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring that votes were counted and results transmitted transparently.
He appealed to all political stakeholders, including the opposition, to accept the outcome in good faith and join hands with the administration to deliver the dividends of democracy.
“Osun belongs to all of us. Now that the people have spoken, we must sheathe our swords and work together for the progress of our dear state,” Oyedotun added.
