It was an atmosphere of songs, praise, healing, deliverance and testimonies during the two-day crusade organised by the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry recently at the church’s headquarters in Ijesha, Lagos.
The crusade, with the theme, Hope for the Needy, was put together by the ministry to seek answers to some of the problems confronting Nigeria and Nigerians, especially hunger, unemployment and stagnation caused by economic recession.
At the end of the programme, many confessed that their burdens were divinely lifted, as God demonstrated his power to deliver people in all aspects of life. There were prayers for the sick, those who wanted kids, the unemployed and prayers for an end to the insecurity in Nigeria.
Many testimonies were also recorded after the prayer and deliverance session.
One Miss Chinyere Njoku, a commercial sex worker, repented at the programme. That was after General Overseer Lazarus Muoka’s sermon where he said God was not ready to accept any offering from a prostitute.
“I was touched and uncomfortable after his sermon. After much thought, I decided to quit prostitution,” she told the reporter.
Muoka, who presided over the crusade, explained that what informed the theme of the crusade was that the entire world was in need of salvation, economic restoration and blessings of God in various ways. He said God was the hope for the needy, assuring that God would visit and bless Nigeria and make the people greater.
“God has the solution to man’s problems and, as we call upon him, all our needs will be met,” the pastor said.
He noted that the inter-denominational programme addressed the various needs of the people and pulled participants from recession and depression into restoration and redemption: “It is common knowledge that the spiritual and physical recession prevailing in the country today has given rise to multiplicity of needs. Consequently, the future has become so bleak, as human efforts could no longer guarantee hope for the needy.”
Muoka also explained that, seeing the situation of man, God decided to give hope to the needy through the programme.
He said, “It does not matter the circumstances, how long one has been in that depressive situation and who is behind any predicament. God set aside the two days to intervene in the affairs of the needy, as He did in the Bible days. He has heard the cry of the needy in every area of life, including economic, political, health, spiritual, family situations, and has decided to come down in His majesty to transform the lives of the people and bring the dividends of redemption to those who participated and, by extension, the people of Nigeria.”
Muoka admonished Nigerians and the church to continue to pray for spiritual solutions to country’s economic and political uncertainties because: “At the end of the crusade, it is certain that all pressures causing acute needs shall be no more and God will demonstrate his power to deliver people in all aspects of life, in a dimension never witnessed before.”
Another programm, “Only God Can Do This,” will be held on December 25 and 26, 2016, while the Mgbidi International Crusade, titled “What God Has Determined,” will hold on January 6 and 8, 2017.
