Lagos welcomes Dr. Bonds, friends tour, championing youth empowerment, global research

The 2025 Dr. Bonds & Friends Tour has officially opened in Lagos, with the launch of a 10-day initiative focused on youth empowerment, special-needs inclusion, academic collaboration, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and the United States.

Now recognized as one of the most influential cultural-exchange programs in the region, the tour runs from December 6 to 15, 2025, across multiple venues in the city.

Led by renowned humanitarian and cultural advocate, Dr. Calvin Bonds, the tour is specifically designed to strengthen U.S.–Nigeria cultural ties, promote youth development, spotlight special-needs advocacy, and facilitate collaboration across various sectors.

The 2025 edition features an expansive and inclusive lineup of events.

There will be panel discussions and networking, bringing together designers, filmmakers, journalists, and creative leaders.

A specialized session will be led by U.S. APAD President, Dr. Sherry Davis, focusing on global research funding opportunities for PhDs and early-career researchers.

According to Dr. Bonds, the tour “is not just an event; it is a bridge between continents, an opportunity to uplift communities, and a reminder that global collaboration can create lasting transformation.”

The 2025 tour is supported by a diverse network of partners, including U.S.-based humanitarian organizations, Nigerian creative industry leaders, academic institutions, community NGOs, media partners, and public and private sector contributors, ensuring it remains one of the most inclusive and culturally significant visiting programs in Lagos.
