The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed off Ariba Bistro Night Life Entertainment Series, located inside Martinos Hotel & Suites, on Otunba Jobi Fele Way, Ikeja, over persistent noise pollution.
The agency disclosed this in a statement shared on X.
It said the enforcement action followed repeated complaints from residents about the excessive noise levels from the facility, which were confirmed to be in violation of the state’s environmental noise standards.
“Despite prior warnings and engagements, the management of Ariba Bistro Night Life Entertainment failed to implement measures to control the nuisance,” the agency said.
The General Manager od LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi said, “Noise pollution is a serious environmental concern that affects the quality of life and public health.
“The Lagos State Government has zero tolerance for activities that disrupt the peace and well-being of residents.
“This action therefore, serves as a warning to other establishments that disregard environmental laws.”
Ajayi emphasised that noise pollution is not only a disturbance but a significant contributor to health issues such as stress, hearing loss, and sleep disorders.
He urged all hospitality businesses, event centres, nightlife entertainment centres and other noise-generating facilities to comply with the state’s noise regulations or face similar sanctions.
