Lagos expands Drivers’ Health & Safety Programme to Eleko, Obalende

More commercial vehicle drivers benefitted from the four-day Lagos State Drivers’ Health & Safety Programme as the initiative spearheaded by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport and Logistics, Hon. Hassan Adekoya, continued at two more locations last week.

The second leg of the programme was held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Eleko Junction along the Ibeju-Lekki Corridor, while Day Three was at Obalende Park the following day (Wednesday, February 11).

At Eleko Junction on Tuesday,commercial drivers at the location benefited from free eye screening and glasses, drug testing and sensitisation, while also being registered for complimentary drivers’ recertification training.

The initiative underscores the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to road safety, driver health, and enhanced welfare within the transportation sector.

Recall that the four-day programme attended to commercial drivers at Lilypond on Ijora-Apapa Corridor on Monday, February 9, 2026.

At Obakende park on Wednesday, the Lagos State Drivers’ Care Programme also made an impactful stop where many participants converged on the venue to benefit from the gesture.

The Lagos State Government team providied commercial drivers with:

■ Free eye screening and prescription glasses

■ Drug testing and sensitisation

■ Registration for complimentary drivers’ recertification training.

The programme reinforces the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to safer roads, healthier drivers, and improved welfare in the transport sector.
