Commissioner of Police, Kogi State, Mr Bethrand Onuoha, said the command arrested 17 suspected hoodlums and rescued 16 kidnapped victims along Ette-Enugu-Ezike Road: “It was a great achievement. It was a joint operation with the military.

“The team swung into action, trailed the kidnappers and rescued the victims from the bush unhurt. They were passengers on transit. We apprehended the suspects and brought them to deserved justice.

“Police operatives arrested 10 suspected armed robbers along Kogi-Abuja Expressway. The Police Anti-Kidnappers operatives raided hideouts of kidnappers in Kabba, Okene axis and recovered some weapons.

“We have warned hoodlums to leave the state because we will give them baptism of fire and show them way to prison. Police also arrested another set of suspected cultists. They were involved in several armed robbery cases.

“We need the support of the public and community leaders to imbibe community policing to work together to flush out the hoodlums. Kogi State is safer and  peaceful.”
