KMAI celebrates 13 Years of building stronger homes and healthier communities

For 13 years, Keeping Marriage Alive Initiative (KMAI) has remained committed to strengthening marriages and preserving family values, with the belief that healthy families are the backbone of a healthy society.

The registered non-governmental organisation will mark its 13th anniversary on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Stonefield Basketball Court, 23 Road, Festac Town, Lagos.

Founded by Ngozi “Ngee” Okonkwo and Dr. Richard “Rich” Okonkwo, KMAI was created out of a passion to protect the family unit and promote stronger relationships within homes and communities. The organisation maintains that when families break down, society suffers the consequences, making family support systems more important than ever.

Over the years, KMAI says it has impacted more than 1.5 million people across the world through both physical and online programs. Its initiatives include Couples Hangout Workshop, Family Conferences, LoveSkool for singles, Relationship Clinic, counselling sessions, mentoring cycles, and children-focused platforms, all aimed at rebuilding and strengthening family life.

As part of the anniversary celebration, KMAI will host its annual Awards Ceremony to honour individuals and groups making meaningful contributions to their communities through leadership, values and family lifestyle.

Marking the milestone, the founders are also calling on Nigerians to work together to build a society rooted in accountability, education, equity and respect for human life for future generations.
