The new body of work looks at the idea of absence and the different ways it can show up in everyday life. Kareem’s paintings touch on memory, change, and the traces people and experiences leave behind.
Rather than telling one clear story, the exhibition gives visitors room to take in the works from their own point of view. The pieces bring together different forms and spaces, creating a mood that encourages quiet attention.
For Kareem, what is not there can sometimes be just as important as what is. The Shape of Absence explores this idea through a collection of works that invite viewers to think about what remains after something has changed or disappeared.
The exhibition will be open to the public at Afra House London from September 16th. Art lovers, collectors, creatives, and members of the public are welcome to attend.
