The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has called for urgent action to halt the growing wave of killings and insecurity across the country, warning that Nigerians are facing worsening hardship.
The party’s North-West Chairman, Abba Sule, made the call on Wednesday while speaking with journalists after a stakeholders’ meeting in Kano involving PRP candidates for various elective offices.
Sule said the combination of insecurity and economic pressure had made life increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens, many of whom were struggling to meet their daily needs.
“Nigerians need to breathe fresh air. The economy is in tatters and people are suffering. The wave of killings must stop,” he said.

He said persistent attacks and economic challenges were threatening communities and businesses in Kano State and other parts of the country.
According to him, the situation had become unacceptable and required a decisive response from those in authority.
The PRP chairman said the meeting also considered preparations for the next general election, including how the party could strengthen its structures and compete for offices at all levels.
“How to face and win the upcoming elections from top to bottom,” Sule said of the meeting’s focus.
He added that the party was mobilising to present candidates and policies it believes can tackle insecurity, revive the economy and rebuild public confidence ahead of the 2027 elections.
