The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has rolled out its campaign strategy for the 2027 presidential election as the party begins efforts to build nationwide support for its candidate, Seyi Makinde.
The party has established a presidential campaign office in Abuja to coordinate its activities ahead of the election, with the Makinde-Daura ticket at the centre of its mobilisation efforts.
APM said its campaign would be driven by issues affecting Nigerians and would present practical solutions to the country’s economic and social challenges.
The party is banking on Makinde’s experience in public administration and his record in Oyo State as part of its argument for giving the ticket national support.
Makinde has said the central objective of his presidential bid is to put citizens at the heart of governance and restructure the country in a way that creates opportunities for more Nigerians.
“For me, this campaign will be about putting Nigerians first. Our central message to Nigerians is that we have to reset our country so that it works for all Nigerians not just a select few,” he said.
The governor has indicated that his campaign will take him across the six geopolitical zones, with engagements involving different groups and stakeholders as the 2027 election approaches.
His proposed policy direction includes measures around economic growth, employment, agriculture, healthcare and national security, alongside calls for greater devolution of powers to the states.
The APM’s presidential ticket was completed when the party selected former Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura, as Makinde’s running mate.
Daura’s selection gives the ticket a security-focused dimension, with the party presenting the combination of Makinde’s governance experience and Daura’s background in national security as part of its appeal to voters.
The party has also said it intends to strengthen its structures at the grassroots while expanding its political alliances ahead of the election.
