The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), yesterday released guidelines for the rescheduled 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that will hold on July 1.
Daily Sun was informed that the mop-up was organised for over 85,000 candidates registered late, those affected by inefficiencies of some Computer Base Test (CBT) centres, biometric verification issues and others with genuine reasons verified by JAMB.
The Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, said the rescheduled exam was to give opportunity to candidates who had the aforementioned challenges during the UTME exam few months ago to participate in the process and possibly secure opportunity to acquire education.
JAMB spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement yesterday insisted that the mop-up exam would hold as scheduled, highlighting the requirements for the exam.
He said candidates were expected to print out their exam e-slips from JAMB website or better still check their e-mails and profile for details.
He implored the candidates to ensure that their e-slips were printed on or before the examination date, as no excuse would be entertained.
He disclosed that a bulk text message was equally been sent to telephone numbers provided by the candidates during registration.
