The governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Taraba State, Professor Jerome Nyame, has described the victory of Governor Ademola Adeleke as a message of hope for the people of Taraba following his declaration as the winner of Saturday’s Osun Guber election.
In a congratulatory message issued on Sunday morning, Nyame noted that despite all the odds that were stacked against Adeleke, the people of the State stood with him and their resolve has paved the way.
Nyame urged the Governor to reciprocate the confidence the people reposed in him by continuing to work for the good of the people and putting their well-being over his personal ambitions.
“I woke up this morning with great joy, following the victory of governor Ademola Adeleke in yesterday’s election. This is a great feat and a victory for democracy. But it is something even bigger: it is a message of hope for the people of Taraba and indeed Nigeria at large.
“It shows clearly that once the people are united in their resolve, there is nothing they cannot achieve. If the people of Osun can do it, then the people of Taraba State can do it as well. Those in doubt can now erase any doubts and embrace the new reality.
“In this election, the myth of the federal might and ruling party is broken. The will of the people now takes preeminence and the underdogs now have hope. I urge the good people of Taraba to rise up and replicate what the people of Osun have done as we go into this election in 2027.
“To my dear friend and brother governor Adeleke, let me use this opportunity to say a big congratulations to you and your team. This is just the beginning of greater things to come. The people have spoken in your favour. I am confident that you will not take their trust for granted. Let us join hands and do this on a larger scale in 2027. Let us join hands and offer the good people of Nigeria the alternative that is desperately needed,” he said.
