The political disagreement between activist Omoyele Sowore and Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has intensified following the victory of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the Osun State governorship election.
The exchange played out on X, where Davido had earlier responded to a post by Sowore with the brief remark, “Ur a useless man.” The post was contained in a screenshot of the exchange shared online.
Sowore had accused Davido and his family of attempting to maintain political influence in Osun while also supporting President Bola Tinubu at the federal level.
In the post Sowore wrote, “Now you know, @Davido. You guys thought you could have it both ways, opportunism and political hedging.”
He continued, “You want your family to keep controlling the Osun State purse while embracing the same monstrous Tinubu @officialabat establishment at the federal level.”
The post also shows a previous post attributed to Davido which has now been deleted from his official page in which he stated, “No more supporting any presidential candidate @AAdeleke_01 make we Dey our Dey !!!”
Another post displayed by Sowore in quoted Davido as saying, “I’M SUPPORTING TINUBU BECAUSE HE’S FROM OSUN, AND FOUR YEARS MAY…”
Following Adeleke’s victory in the election, Sowore returned to the dispute with a fresh reaction, saying he was pleased that his criticism had apparently prompted Davido to block him on X.
“I am pretty happy the message sank in very well, to the point that you had to block me here on @X,” Sowore wrote.
He then addressed Davido over his relationship with Tinubu, saying, “@davido, you can’t endorse a failure like Tinubu, @officialABAT, grin from ear to ear in meetings with him, power your circle with the so-called #cityboys and then pretend not to understand the consequences of that political choice.”
Sowore also turned his criticism to the Adeleke family’s political control in Osun, writing, “I hope you and your family, led by @AAdeleke_01, now understand that @OfficialAPCNg has failed Nigerians and that Tinubu’s presidency has been a spectacular failure.”
He added, “You guys must stop fooling around, stop treating the Osun State treasury like a family jackpot, and face the harsh reality millions of Nigerians are living through every single day.”
Sowore ended the latest post with #TinubuMustGo and #Sowore2027, as the political dispute between him and Davido continued after Adeleke’s re-election victory.
