In celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, the Dewdrop Foundation hosted a transformative workshop at the Dewdrop Institute, focusing on the critical role of financial inclusion in women’s empowerment. The event aimed to equip women and girls in Enugu with essential financial literacy, digital banking, and entrepreneurial skills, addressing the significant gender gap in access to financial resources.
Recognizing the substantial barriers women in sub-Saharan Africa face in accessing formal financial services, the workshop directly tackled this disparity, transforming the Dewdrop Institute office into a dynamic learning and support hub.
Esteemed facilitators from Zenith Prudential, Enugu, Zenith Insurance Enugu, and Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ebonyi State, delivered impactful sessions tailored to empower participants.
Dr. Chinelo Nwefor ignited the audience with her message of financial independence, emphasizing the importance of diversifying income streams. “Build multiple income streams, take control of your financial destiny, and never let yourself become a burden,” she urged, advocating for self-care and empowerment.
The workshop attracted a diverse audience, including students and women from the local community, who actively engaged in discussions and shared their experiences. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as participants sought knowledge and practical strategies to enhance their financial literacy and build a brighter future.
The day concluded with a showcase of the Dewdrop Institute’s vocational programs in Professional Care Services and Global Hospitality, providing tangible opportunities for participants to explore new career paths and enhance their economic prospects.
“This workshop was more than just an event; it was a catalyst for change,” stated Mrs. Agatha Nnaji, Executive Director, Dewdrop Foundation. “We are committed to bridging the gender gap in financial inclusion and empowering women to thrive. Today, we witnessed the power of community, learning, and unwavering support.”
The Dewdrop Foundation’s International Women’s Day workshop reaffirmed its dedication to empowering women and building sustainable futures in Enugu and beyond.
