Former supervisory councillor, Alhaja Wakilat Taiwo Agbabiaka-Ifigbe, has officially entered the race for the chairmanship of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA). The announcement, made at a vibrant rally on Ilesanmi Street, Isolo, signals a shift in the local political landscape, with Agbabiaka-Ifigbe promising a leadership rooted in inclusivity and community service.

The rally, held yesterday, drew a large crowd of supporters, including traditional chiefs, youth groups, market vendors, community leaders and artisans. They urged Agbabiaka-Ifigbe, sister to the late Osolo of Isolo, Oba Kabiru Adelaja Agbabiaka, to address what they described as “maladministration and ineptitude” plaguing the council.

Chief Yahya Abiodun Lawal Arowooye, the Agbaakin of Isolo, emphasised her potential to inject “a breath of fresh air” into local governance. He highlighted her integrity and administrative competence, stating, “For many years now, she has proven to be trustworthy, and that’s the kind of person we need at the council to pilot our affairs.”
