In the face of the combination of insecurity and economic hardship buffeting the nations, General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, has urged Nigerians to place their full trust in God for divine intervention and all their needs.
He made this appeal during the 2025 edition of the church’s annual International programme, “Hope for the Needy.”
Pastor Muoka explained that in a period as challenging as the present time in the country, total dependence on God is not just desirable but essential. He clarified the difference between needs and wants, stressing that needs are indispensable while wants are often optional.
“Needs are necessities, things you cannot do without. Wants are not always important. When you are in need, in most cases, you cry for help. Needs, when unmet bring sorrow, pain, and distress. Examples include poverty, barrenness, sickness, and oppression.”
He further noted that unmet needs frequently manifest through financial hardship, explaining: “When you don’t have money to pay your bills, house rent, transport fare, or even clothe yourself, the pain is real.”

In his message based on Psalm 72:12–14, he emphasized that God has always been the defender and hope of the needy. “He has not changed,” he assured.
Pastor Muoka described many people’s struggles as a longing for freedom from the burdens of need rather than a pursuit of prosperity. “Where there is a need, a vacuum exists, and that vacuum causes sorrow and wounds in the heart,” he said.
He encouraged the congregation to be confident in God’s willingness to provide, declaring: “Whatever you are going through, God will meet you at the point of your need. God will meet your needs.”
The cleric also warned believers not to partake in evil practices or shortcuts in pursuit of wealth, noting that true provision comes from God alone. He reminded them that even after humanity fell into sin, God promptly made a way of redemption, proof of His unfailing commitment to meeting human needs.
This year’s “Hope for the Needy” programme drew worshippers from across the world and featured remarkable testimonies. Among them was a woman delivered from ritual killers and a man who miraculously survived being dragged by a large truck yet emerged without a scratch.
The event was described by many as a profound encounter with God, filled with hope, deliverance, and renewed faith.
