PAUL ORUDE, BAUCHI
The Returning Officer for Bauchi State governorship election, Professor Mohammed Kyari, has declared the results of Saturday’s election as inconclusive.
Kyari disclosed that from the collated results from 19 out of 20 LGAs of the state, APC polled a total of 456, 453, while the PDP polled a total of 469, 512 votes.
He said the three reasons for declaring the results inconclusive were that the margin of lead between the PDP and the APC was 4,059, the number of cancelled votes was 45,212, while the number of votes affected by the cancellation was put at 139, 240.
He said based on Section 26 Part 53 of the Electoral Act, the election was inconclusive and a supplementary election would be conducted in the affected arears within 21days
