Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticised former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, over his comments involving his wife and mother in the ongoing political debate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike faulted Amaechi, who is the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential running mate, for saying he would have distanced himself from his wife if she were Nigeria’s president and governed the country like President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during his monthly media chat in Abuja on Thursday, Wike accused Amaechi of disrespecting his mother and wife through the remarks.
He also criticised the former governor for bringing family members into political discussions.
He said: “Why do you have to bring your wife now into politics?
