All Progressives Congress (APC) women stakeholders in Cross River State, including those responsible for manning polling units, wards and Local Government Areas, have met in Calabar, the state capital, to deliberate on strategies to be deployed in the field to ensure a resounding victory for the party in the state.
The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who convened the meeting, charged the APC women to embrace unity, love and sustained grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Governor Bassey Otu.
She urged them to translate their support for the party into measurable electoral results through door-to-door campaigns, church gatherings, prayer meetings and market outreaches.
Senator Tinubu also called for forgiveness and reconciliation among party members, urging them to set aside disagreements and work towards a common electoral objective.
“We must vote APC top to bottom. Don’t confuse our voters. Everyone should vote for APC, double your mobilisation at this critical time, please,” the First Lady said.
She assured the party women of support and guidance, emphasising that their performance at the grassroots would determine the outcome of their political engagement and reward.
Speaking, the Co-Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Betta Edu, stressed that political loyalty should be demonstrated through votes secured at polling units rather than mere declarations of support.
“Go back to your polling units and gather your people, beginning with your women. Let them begin to canvass, door to door, church to church, prayer meeting to prayer meeting, market to market. By your result we will know who is who,” she said.
On her part, the wife of the Cross River State Governor, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, urged women in the state to embrace unity and sustain grassroots mobilisation for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Otu called on the women to put aside personal grievances and forgive one another so they could collectively work towards the party’s electoral success.

“Whatever it is that has been bothering us, whatever we think has been our pain, let’s bury the hatchet and move on,” she said.
She urged them to remain committed to doing what is right, noting that genuine service would eventually attract its reward, regardless of personal differences or whether their efforts were appreciated.
“Whether they like it or not, whether they love you or not, whether they like your face or not, just keep doing what you’re doing. Do the right thing. Consistency will produce the result,” she added.
Bishop Otu also highlighted her humanitarian interventions, particularly in the health sector, as part of efforts to complement the governor’s administration and address the needs of vulnerable residents. She disclosed that her medical outreach programme had recorded 12 editions within three years, with more than 2,000 surgeries conducted.
According to her, the interventions were designed to bridge gaps in healthcare delivery, while Governor Bassey Otu focused on governance, infrastructure and other structural development priorities.
“Health is wealth. Since the governor cannot be everywhere, while he is occupied by governance, administration and upgraded structural development, there must be somebody to bridge the gap,” she said.
She maintained that her interventions were driven by passion and a desire to improve residents’ welfare rather than the expectation of public commendation.
The Cross River State First Lady further urged the women to take the APC’s message to their communities, wards, polling units, churches and places of business, insisting that the party must sustain its existing political structure to ensure continuity and a more overwhelming victory.
The meeting was part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure in Cross River State.
The event, which also featured the empowerment of women, was attended by the wife of the Speaker, all female legislators in the House of Assembly, all female commissioners, all female local government chairmen and vice-chairmen, all female councillors, all female appointees, all female candidates in the next election and other critical women stakeholders from the 18 local government areas of Cross River State.
