Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho made an impressive debut for Celtic, scoring against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. He netted the winning goal in the 96th minute, blasting a powerful left-footed shot from the penalty spot into the net.
Iheanacho, a recent addition to the team, came on for Daizen Maeda with 20 minutes left in the match. Despite creating several opportunities, Celtic couldn’t capitalize until late in the game. With less than 10 minutes remaining, Kilmarnock equalized from a corner kick, as David Watson powered a header past goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
However, just when it seemed the match would end in a draw, Celtic was awarded a penalty for handball following a VAR review. Kelechi Iheanacho confidently stepped up to take the spot-kick and fired it high into the net, securing a 2-1 victory for the Hoops and maintaining their unbeaten start to the Premiership season. After the match, Iheanacho presented Sebastian Tounekti with the Man of the Match award on his Celtic debut.
