A Nigerian man identified simply as Adegoke has made a passionate appeal to Nigerians to help raise the N100 million ransom demanded by his abductors in Sokoto.
In a video which circulated on Wednesday, Adegoke can be seen seated and surrounded by three gun-totting, masked assailants in an apparent remote forest location.
The visibly distressed man disclosed that he was heading to Sokoto on “Saturday, March 6, 2026,” when he fell into the hands of the kidnappers.
“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters. My name is Adegoke. I was on my way on Saturday, the 6th of March 2026, to Sokoto when I was apprehended on the way,” he disclosed.

Adegoke said the kidnappers, who set ransom at N100 million, had promised to release him once paid.
“The ransom has been set at 100 million naira. Please, brothers and sisters, I’m begging and pleading that you guys should please help me so that I can leave this place alive. The people have granted me, they promised that as long as the ransom is paid, they will allow me to go,” he added.
The video has stirred reactions on social media, with many netizens calling in the security agencies to rescue the victim.
SunOnline reports that kidnapping for ransom is one of the major security challenges bedevilling the nation.
The Sokoto State Police Command spokesman, DSP Ahmad Rufai, has not confirmed the development.
