Security agencies in Kaduna State are enhancing collaborative measures to curtail recent threats.

Resulting from the collaboration, security operatives intercepted some bandits and gun runners at Kidunu area around Eastern By-Pass, Chikun Local Government Area in the last 48 hours.

Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kaduna.

He explained that after an exchange of gunfire the notorious bandit was neutralised.

“Two AK-47 rifles, charms and amulets, a mobile phone and two motorcycles, were recovered,” Aruwan stated

He added that the attention of Kaduna State government had been drawn to a circulated intelligence extract highlighting a plan by bandits to attack Kaduna and its environs.

“The Kaduna State government appeals for continued vigilance by all citizens as the state continues to confront insecurity,’’ Aruwan stated.

He added that government was constantly engaging with security agencies, assisting with collaborative efforts, and supporting them with logistics and effective coordination of intelligence gathering and response.

“The Kaduna State government assures all residents that security agencies will continue to monitor the situation with optimal alertness and appropriate urgency,’’ he stated.

Aruwan encouraged residents to maintain vigilance, but to go about their normal activities as security agencies were working assiduously to eliminate threats.
