Hardship: Kebbi governor flag off distribution of free grain

Kebbi Governor Dr Nasir Idris has flagged- off the distribution of 200 trucks of grains to people across the state as part of efforts to ease the hardship faced by the people in the state.
The grains comprises of bag of rice, millets,maize and sorghum among others.
While flagging of the items in Birnin Kebbi,Governor Idris disclosed that the grains on displayed,only consisted of 20 percentage of items bought by the state,stressed that the remaining 80% of the grains are being kept in the government warehouses.
According to him, “it is a way to show a solidarity and support for our people who are facing hardship and to ensure that they have access to the resources to survive and recover.
“It is a reminder to us of the important of coming together as a community to rescue those who are vulnerable and need of assistance. At this juncture,it is significant to note that this relief is an interim measure to bring succours to our people.”
He disclosed that the grains to be distributed were 200 trucks of various items which shall be given to the people free of charge.
Idris ordered that the grains should be distributed to all people in the state irrespective of their political affiliations.
Governor Idris recalled that his administration had earlier procured bags of fertiliser, assorted grains,pump and solar machines, power thrillers, motorised bole holes and others worth N23.4 billion ease hardship and motivate farmers to produce more food in the state.
He insisted that his administration are still discussing with the Federal Government to revoke the Koko-Mahuta -Dabai road earlier awarded to a construction company stressed that,the state want to take up the project and execute it to ease movement of people and goods at the area.
The Governor disclosed that the people of the state are free to inspect all the projects his administration are doing across the state especially the schools rehabilitation,road projects added that his administration doors are open for the people.
He warned the beneficiaries from selling the grains in the market,stressed that whoever caught by the security agencies,shall be arrested and prosecuted.
