…Sets Date for Hearing Lawsuit Against Construction Company

The Gombe State High Court has ordered the suspension of construction works on a new mechanic village initiated by the state government. The court’s decision was made in response to allegations of land encroachment.

In the lawsuit that was filed before the high court, Emir General Integrated Limited alleged that the construction company contracted by the state government, ‘Grandscope Construction Limited,’ trespassed on its land around the recently commissioned Dankwambo Meta Motorpark in Gombe metropolis.

While preparing for the proper hearing of the dispute, the presiding judge, Justice Fatima Musa, ordered the suspension of works at the site. She announced February 17th, 2025, as the new date for the appearance.

Meanwhile, counsel to the complainant, Barrister Sulaiman Abdurrahim, told newsmen that the case was brought before the court by the Emir General Integrated Limited seeking legal redress against Grandscope Construction Limited for unauthorised trespass of its property.

He revealed that they already got a court order restraining the defendant, whether by itself, agents, workmen, labourers, employers, or representatives, from further entering, erecting structure, or commencing construction work on the property in dispute.

While counsel to the defendant, Barrister Garba Bin Ali Subi, stated that the case was mentioned and they would go through it and prepare their response within the period of the adjournment.
