For Glory Oritseweyinmi Ogunli, an accountant, poet and fashion designer, her main dream is to be part of an international fashion event before the end of the year. The Creative Head of Glame Attires, a Lagos-based Afrocentric fashion brand that caters to male and female clients of all ranges, is inching towards that dream.
Recently Glory’s Glame Attire was live at the just concluded Warri Fashion Lifestyle Festival, a premier fashion show that celebrates and showcases indigenous fashion design brands from Warri, Delta State, and Nigeria as a whole. At the festival, Glory dazzled on the innovative “X” shaped runway where she showcased her unique designs to the delight of all in attendance, most of whom were fashionistas. The showcased outfits include beach wears, native attires, corporate dresses, shirts, vintage shirts and joggers. These outfits were showcased on the runway by male and female models.
The audience was particularly wowed by the uniqueness of the brand’s fabrics which were all designed and printed locally, before being brought to life with expert tailoring executed by her production team. Glory, who was so excited about the outcome of her participation at the show, said her Glame Fashion is positioned to tell the African story of fashion with a new “cloth” twist.
