Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, will be conferred with an honorary doctorate degree on Management by the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) Saturday.
According to a letter by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Nnenna Otti, the “Council has ratified the approval of FUTO Senate that you be conferred with the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Management (DMT), Honoris Causa, at our university’s convocation ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 7, 2024.”
Prof. Otti disclosed that Uzodimma was being honoured because of his “decades of meritorious, selfless, and outstanding services that have positively impacted the lives of the good people of Imo State, the nation and humanity generally.”
The Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, described it as well deserved.
He said the award was a further testimonial by a reputable institution to the commendable job Uzodimma has been doing both in the state and Nigeria.
He commended the Vice Chancellor and the Senate of FUTO for their unbiased assessment of the worthiness of the governor for the DMT award, saying that the state government would always do all within its powers to satisfy the needs of the masses.
