The Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs (FMSD&IGA) has verified and certified more than 200 zonal intervention and constituency projects executed across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones as part of efforts to deepen the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the grassroots level.

The projects, implemented within the last year, focused on supporting small and medium enterprises, agriculture, skill acquisition, electricity supply and job creation in rural communities.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Onwusoro Maduka, disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja during his presentation at the 2026 International Civil Service Conference.

Speaking on the theme, “Collaboration activities of government: a strategic pathway for national development, effective governance and sustainable service delivery in Nigeria,” Maduka said effective governance in the modern era requires collaboration, innovation, institutional coordination, citizens’ engagement, transparency and measurable outcomes.

He noted that the country’s numerous challenges, including insecurity, unemployment, poverty, infrastructure deficit, economic volatility, climate change and declining public trust, could only be addressed through stronger collaboration among the federal, state and local governments, security agencies, development partners, civil society organisations and citizens.

According to him, strategic partnerships undertaken by the ministry had already begun yielding positive results in public administration and service delivery.

Maduka said the collaboration between the ministry, Galaxy Backbone and the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation had significantly enhanced the deployment of an enterprise content management system, institutionalised paperless operations, improved transparency and strengthened workflow and records management within the ministry.

The permanent secretary also recommended measures to further strengthen inter-governmental and public-private sector collaboration in the country.

The recommendations, he said, included the introduction of a robust coordination framework, strengthening digital governance, deepening grassroots governance, capacity building, expanding stakeholder engagement and promoting joint monitoring and accountability mechanisms.

He expressed optimism that sustained collaboration among relevant stakeholders would accelerate national development and improve service delivery across the country.
