Fear grips Ebonyi community over murder

• 3 suspects arrested

There was anxiety in Ameke community, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State following the alleged murder of 27-year-old Osondu Oyoke by youths.
Residents flee the area for fear of possible mass arrest when his bother, Peter, raised the alarm over the murder.
Osondu was murdered on December 5, 2016 on his way to a nearby village, a situation that has thrown the entire Ameka community into pandemonium.
In his petition to Governor David Umahi, Peter Oyoke, accused community leaders from the village of complicity.
Peter said the assailants after beating his younger brother to coma bundled him to his family house where he was abandoned until he died two days later in a hospital.
The petitioner appealed to the governor and Commissioner of Police, Peace Ibekwe Abdallah, to fish out the suspects.
Though the Police Public Relations Office (PPRO), Jude Madu, could not be reached, Daily Sun gathered that three persons have been arrested.
