Factional Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) convened Sunday at the official residence of the FCT Minister, Life Camp, Abuja, in a decisive move to revitalize the party’s internal structure and rebuild trust among its members.
Opening the meeting, BoT Chairman, Mao Ohuabunwa emphasised the critical need for unity and organisational reform, stating,
“Our commitment is unwavering — we are here to restore confidence in the PDP and ensure that congresses are held in every state that is yet to conduct theirs.”
Ohuabunwa assured members that the national leadership is prepared to collaborate closely with state chapters, explaining,
“It is imperative that we bring fresh leadership and stability across the country. The national body stands ready to work hand-in-hand with all state chapters to achieve this.”

He laid out a clear roadmap for the party’s progress: “Our priorities are conducting the overdue state congresses, consolidating the achievements we have made so far, and supporting the national leadership to steer PDP back on course. These steps are necessary for unity, transparency, and deepening grassroots engagement.”
Highlighting the strategic importance of these efforts, Ohuabunwa added,
“Holding timely congresses and reinforcing discipline within our organization will enable us to rebuild trust among members and present a credible, focused front ahead of upcoming elections.”
The meeting attracted key figures within the PDP, including factional PDP chairman Abdul-Rahman Mohammed, National Secretary Sam Anyanwu, Philip Aduda, and several state chairmen. Other prominent attendees were ambassadorial nominee Okezie Ikpeazu and various National Assembly members.
