Manchester City erased any questions about their form with a dominant 2-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday, propelling them to fifth position in the Premier League rankings.
The match, played away at the King Power Stadium, saw City return to winning ways following a difficult run of matches.
The game began with both teams ready to make their imprint, but it was City who scored first. In the 21st minute, a rebound off a Leicester defender fell perfectly to Savinho, who calmly placed the ball into an empty net to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Leicester replied with strong forward play, but their efforts were often stopped by City’s defense and goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, who made vital stops, including a fantastic stop on James Justin’s close-range strike in the 38th minute.

In the second half, City doubled their advantage in the 74th minute when Savinho floated a lovely cross to Erling Haaland, who smashed a header into the net.
The goal sealed Leicester’s destiny and gave City a comfortable advantage as they brilliantly controlled the latter phases of the game.
Leicester had one more chance from a corner, but City’s defense held firm, and Ortega was quick to recover the ball, ensuring the visitors’ clean sheet.
The victory for City also signals a return to winning ways after a brief stumble, and they will be hoping to maintain this energy into their remaining games.
