The I Go Dye’s Delta Talent Hunt tagged: ‘Sorting Out Raw Talents’ has produced a second winner. She’s Blessing Edeyibo, who beat other contestants to clinch the top prize.
The event, which held at Royal Court Yard, in Agbor, Delta State on February 21, 2019, saw Edeyigbo smiling home with a cash prize of N500,000 after being adjudged excellent by panel of judges made up of Faze, Nas T, OAP Monique, Maleke as well as comedian Ghana Must Go.
Conceived and executed by Francis Agoda, the comedian popularly known as I Go Dye, SORT is part of his Path of Honour initiative, designed to identify and reward excellence in various fields of human endeavour. The talent hunt kicked off in Warri, Delta State on February 13, 2019, with Mr. Douglas winning N500,000.
Speaking on why he floated the project, I Go Dye said: “In a country of about 200 million people, where youths believe that the only way they can make it is by travelling abroad, we need platforms to engage and make them productive citizens of the country.
“In our own little way, we have launched project SORT to help the government curb youth restiveness and thuggery by helping them to discover their God-given talent and harness it for the good of the country.”
I Go Dye added: “This year, we are concentrating on peace and talent development through FAPOH with #igodyeprojectsort ‘Sorting Out Raw Talents’ which is ongoing, and which would assist us to discover talented youths and reward them according to their overall performances. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has supported this project because it will improve the human capital development of the youths and promote self- resourcefulness.”
The grand finale of the talent hunt will hold in Asaba, the Delta State capital on March 5, where winner of the Warri leg and winner of the Agbor edition will lock horn in a final showdown. The overall winner will be crowned ‘Delta Talent and Brain Ambassador’ and would drive away a 2019 model of Hyundai Accent sedan car.
