Novak Djokovic debuted at Wimbledon in 2005. Two decades later, the Serb is still among the favorites at the All England Club, continuing to rewrite the record books at 38.
Novak ousted fellow Serb, Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 in the third round, reaching the last 16 for the 17th time and remaining on the title course in the cathedral of tennis.
The veteran notched his 100th Wimbledon win over Miomir. He also secured his 46th triumph at the grass-court Major since turning 30 – matching Roger Federer’s Open era record.
The seven-time champion produces an incredible performance to defeat fellow Serb Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-0, 6-4
Federer achieved the milestone during his final Wimbledon run in 2021 at nearly 40. Now, Djokovic has equaled it and earned a chance to surpass it in the fourth round against Alex de Minaur.
The remarkable part of the feat? Novak has claimed 46 of his 100 Wimbledon victories after his 30th birthday, highlighting his enduring brilliance and fitness at the sport’s highest level.
The Serb turned 30 ahead of the 2017 Wimbledon. Djokovic reached the quarterfinal in London that year and embraced a brilliant streak since 2018.
Novak has lost only two matches in the previous seven All England Club campaigns, falling in the title clash to Carlos Alcaraz in 2023 and 2024. Last year, the legend became the third-oldest finalist at the All England Club after Ken Rosewall and Roger Federer.
The Serb has been the Wimbledon finalist at the previous six events, winning four titles and increasing his tally. Djokovic’s consistency in London is unparalleled in the modern era.
From 20 trips to SW19, he has reached the last 16 17 times, advanced into ten finals and lifted seven trophies. Now, with Novak’s form peaking again, Roger’s record may be in danger of falling outright.
Djokovic sees the grass-court event as his biggest chance to lift the 25th Major crown.
The gap to Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner is closer than on clay and hard, and the veteran looks good to chase the trophy over his most formidable rivals.
