District Governor, District 9112, Femi Adenekan, has visited Rotary Club of Anthony Golden, Lagos, to promote stability, accountability and targeted vision among the club members.

The district governor, whose obligation included visits to all Rotary clubs under his jurisdiction across the state, said the visit was to uplift the goodwill spirit among the club members.

In Rotary, it is the duty of the district governor to visit the clubs within the district, at least, once a year as this will afford him the chance to meet other Rotarians on a personal level, get to meet new members and appreciate the state of the clubs.

Meanwhile, the governor said his administration will ensure the district continues to do more in Rotary foundation.

He said: “We just want to make sure our district continues to do more than it has done in years past.

“I am here to support the club in those areas they are facing challenges, and also to encourage them in those areas they are doing excellently and equally prepare them for the coming year and to make sure next year will be better from this year.”

He commended the club for the ongoing good works under the present administration.

President of the club, Chidi Ogu, revealed some of the projects his club is working on, including an ongoing membership recruitment drive.

Ogu, who said he was delighted with the visit, said: “I am happy the district governor visited, I am happy with his observations and corrections and we thank God that the event turned out very well.

“Most of our projects are on maternal/infant healthcare, education, water and sanitation, while we ensure some communities are provided with boreholes, like the recent commissioning of a borehole at Oworonshoki community.

“We equally impact public schools around the area where we develop plans after choosing schools to focus on.

“Also, we plan on setting up a sickbay and an e-library within selected schools within our host community. We have recognised that some of them do not have boreholes.

“We would equally engage in other community projects that will affect and impact the society.”

During the governor’s how the club will improve the sustainability of its community projects was discussed and also new members were inducted at the investiture ceremony.
